The discerning cheese merchants Paxton and Whitfield have come up with an unusual idea for a wedding cake. It's a cheese cake, not an american style cheese cake, but one that is made of layers of cheese such as cheddar, cheshire and specialist regional cheeses such as Yarg from Cornwall.

Decorated with seasonal fruits and nuts these cakes are certainly different and make a change from the more traditional fruit cake covered in Royal icing.

Well in my opinion that's hardly the find of the century. Doesn't almost everyone find the experience of the first day of a new job somewhat daunting? And why should getting married be frightening anyway?

Black Meringue Magazine

We were contacted about 3 weeks ago by Blaze Publishing, a magazine publishing house based in Warwickshire. Now you wouldn't know by looking at their website which predominately promotes magazines about shooting and outdoor life but they are soon to publish a new bookazine entitled Black Meringue. This new title is all about alternative weddings and should be available in all WH Smiths shops from late August. Sounds like it could be an interesting read - I love the title.

Blaze were enquiring about us placing an ad within Black Meringue for wedding insurance products. Unfortunately our ad spend for this year had already been budgetted for, so we won't be taking them up on the offer.
